Volunteers Needed for Dia:Beacon shows!

Dia:Beacon is looking for people who would like to volunteer for the series of Trisha Brown Performances.
Males and females over 18 years old
Dates: Thursday, February 11 – Sunday, February 14, 2010
Orientation will be held at:
Dia:Beacon, 3 Beekman Street
Beacon, NY on Thursday, February 11, from 3:00 – 5:00 pm
Rehearsals will be held on Friday, February 12, from 12:15- 5 pm
Performances will be held on Saturday, February 13 and Sunday February 14th at 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. Commitment for both days is from 10:30-3:00.p.m. A break between performances and lunch will be provided.
These positions will require some basic physical strength and volunteers are required to come to the orientation and all rehearsals.

Dia:Beacon Performances - Feb 13 & 14
In the second part of TBDC's year-long residency at Dia:Beacon, in Beacon, NY, the Company will perform several selections from the repertory over a two-decade span.
Performances are at 12 & 2pm on Sat & Sun, Feb 13 & 14*
Dia:Beacon is easily accessible via Metro North from Grand Central Station
*On Feb 14 @ 3pm, Trisha Brown will be in conversation with art critic, Klaus Kertess, and Dia's Director, Philippe Vergne. This event is free.

New York, NY December 21 - Trisha Brown Dance Company (TBDC) and Dance Theater Workshop announce a new lecture series celebrating TBDC’s 40th Anniversary. Launching on January 13, the series kicks off with a lively discussion moderated by Wendy Perron with veteran dancers Diane Madden and Carolyn Lucas. The conversation will offer a rare behind-the-scenes look into the Company’s creative process and a chance to listen to stories from all around the world.
Lectures will take place at Dance Theater Workshop in the Bessie Schönberg Theater. Tickets are free with a suggested donation of $10 at the door. Reservations are not required, but can be made with Box Office at 212.924.0077. Box office hours are Monday - Friday from 5pm - 9pm and Saturday - Sunday from 12pm - 8pm. Dance Theater Workshop is located at 219 West 19th Street between 7th and 8th Avenues.

Brugge & Breda
TBDC takes off again for repertory performances at Concertgebouw in Brugge, Belgium on Saturday, December 5 at 8pm. A Lec/Dem will occur on Sunday, December 6 at 11am.
On Tuesday, December 8, the Company will take stage at Chassé Theater in Breda, The Netherlands for a performance at 8:30pm. Three Master Classes will also occur that day.

Technique & Repertory Workshop
Come learn excerpts from "Set and Reset" (1983) at this weekend's technique and repertory workshop. Company members Laurel Tentindo and Leah Morrison will lead students through a 2-hour technique class that will prepare them for learning the repertory. This Saturday & Sunday, Nov 21 & 22, from 12-4pm at Center for Performance Research in Brooklyn, NY. $40/day, first come, first served. This month: TBDC in Reggio Emilia, Italy
Today, Maramotti Collection in Reggio Emilia, Italy will host a public meeting with Trisha Brown in conversation with Rossella Mazzaglia, professor at the DAMS – Bologna University (who has recently written an exhaustive monograph dedicated to Trisha Brown), and journalist and art critic Adriana Polveroni.

TBDC en France!
From October 15-18, TBDC will perform repertory at the Théâtre National de Chaillot in Paris, France. Come see "Set and Reset," "You can see us," and the "L'Amour au theatre." Two Performances, a Talk, and a Masterclass at Dartmouth!
Trisha Brown and her dancers are on the road today heading to Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH. On Thur, Sept 24, Ms. Brown will give a talk moderated by John Killacky on her collaborations with Robert Rauschenberg. On Sept 25 & 26, the Company will perform TBDC repertory, and on Sept 26, Mindy Myers will teach a masterclass. So much to do and see, so little time! For more info, visit our Calendar.

"Set and Reset/Reset" being performed at Opéra de Lyon
From September 15-20, the Ballet de l’Opéra de Lyon will perform "Set and Reset/Reset" at the Opéra de Lyon in Lyon, France. The piece will be on a program with work by Merce Cunningham and Ralph Lemon. Click here for more info.

We Moved!
In July 2008, TBDC vacated its studio and office facility at 625 W. 55th Street, where it resided for seven good years, and moved its administrative operations to a beautiful 3,000 square-foot storefront office space at 465 Greenwich Street between Watts and Desbrosses in the TriBeCa neighborhood of Manhattan, NY.
